Official Weather Station Moves Back to Stapleton
Stapleton will once again be home to an official weather observation station. When the Stapleton airport closed in 1995, the National Weather Service moved Denver’s official weather observation station to Denver International Airport (DIA) twenty miles east of the city.

Outcome of the Stapleton Name Vote
In the Stapleton vote, Question #1 asked if the name Stapleton should be removed. Stapleton property owners voted no. 3,590 ballots were cast. 2,282 (65.2%) voted to keep the name. 1,216 (34.8%) voted to remove the name.

The seventh annual self-guided Stapleton Open Studios tour of artists’ studios is back, with 26 artists at 15 studios ready to meet visitors, show their work and demonstrate how it is made.
Stapleton Burglary Spree
In the span of just eight days starting in early August, DPD investigated 19 burglaries, but the crime spree might be over as quickly as it began. DPD has filed criminal charges on several juveniles and linked them to at least 10 cases of burglary/auto theft.
Public art roams the prairie in newest Stapleton neighborhood “Wind Gate”
The Wind Gate Art Suite by Rodrigo Nava, from Putney, VT, consists of three distinct sculpture arrays installed in Stapleton’s new neighborhood north of 56th Avenue.
