2015 WASH PARK HOME TOUR

The 17th Annual Wash Park Home Tour is Saturday, May 9, 2015, 10am-4pm featuring five distinctive homes in Washington Park, Denver, Colo. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20 at www.washparkhometour.org or directly from Steele Elementary students. On the day of the Tour, tickets are $25 and can be purchased at any house on the Tour or the Home Tour Street Fair at South High School (Franklin/Louisiana). Proceeds from the Tour benefit Steele Elementary School and the Denver Public Schools Education Outreach Program.

As a Mother’s Day weekend Denver tradition, the Wash Park Home Tour showcases distinctive single-family homes from different styles ranging from historic renovations to contemporary new builds and updated architecture that fuses old with new. This year’s event will again feature the Wash Park Home Tour Street Fair at South High School with food trucks, event sponsors, Steele’s garden plant sale, art activities and more. Attendees will also be able to ascend and tour the beautiful and historic South High School bell tower.

The Wash Park Home Tour provides visitors with a variety of remodeling and building plans, design ideas and garden and landscape concepts. The 2015 Wash Park Home Tour featured homes include:

1309 S. Marion – Contemporary Denver Square
1385 S. Marion – Historic Tudor
1310 S. Lafayette – Classic Wash Park Bungalow
1374 S. Lafayette – Modern New Build
1538 S. Humboldt – Retro Ranch
The Tour draws more than 1,500 attendees each year with the majority of proceeds benefitting Steele Elementary School. For the past several years, the Wash Park Home Tour committee–a volunteer committee comprised of Steele Elementary parents–donates a portion of the proceeds to the Denver Public Schools Educational Outreach Program whose mission is to help homeless children use education to break the cycle of poverty by providing essential educational support.

Their primary objective is to remove educational barriers that prevent homeless children from having a successful school experience.

Last year this program served more than 2,000 homeless students in the Denver area, with more than 500 of those students not living with a parent or guardian. “We are so grateful for the support of the Wash Park Home Tour,” said the EOP staff. “The money the Home Tour raises and the committee donates to us helps to provide school fees, backpacks, basic need supplies, food, school supplies, uniforms and clothing, along with other critical resources to ensure that homeless children in Denver have the opportunity to succeed.” The continued support of the Tour has helped thousands of students over the last nine years and EOP is so thankful for the commitment to DPS students experiencing homelessness.

The 2015 Wash Park Home Tour sponsors include:

Platinum Sponsor – Kentwood Real Estate
Bronze Sponsors – Caruso Kitchens, Diamond Homes, House Greening, Lawn Doctor – Denver, Old Greenwich Builders
Home Sponsors – Renewal by Anderson, Rubio’s
Tote Bag Sponsor – Great Place Real Estate
