This event brings the diabetes community together in a supportive environment open to anyone with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, their family members, friends, and caretakers.

The 6th annual EPIC (Empowering Patients for Individualized Care) Diabetes Conference is being held in person at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel at 1550 Court Place on Saturday, May 20th, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (registration opens at 8 a.m.) MDT. Tickets are $10, lunch and snacks will be provided, and participants can choose between three different tracks: adult, pediatric, and advanced. Jennifer Sherr, M.D., Ph.D., a Professor in Pediatrics (Endocrinology) at Yale School of Medicine, will be this year’s Keynote speaker. Dr. Sherr’s passion for the care of those with type 1 diabetes (T1D) is quite personal, as she was diagnosed in 1987. From then on, she was determined to become a pediatric endocrinologist.

The conference is a great way to continue your diabetes education outside of appointments and learn from the nation’s top diabetes specialists through presentations and Q&A sessions. Workshops include a 15-minute presentation by the speaker(s), followed by 45 minutes for questions from attendees. Between 300 and 400 participants are expected to attend from across the Denver and Rocky Mountain regions, including Wyoming, Montana, and Utah. Vendors in diabetes-related, medical, and health-conscious businesses will also be present for participants to learn about at the conference.
