It is often thought that classical music in this country was simply imported from Europe. While this is largely true, the uniquely American influences on classical music in this country are unmistakable. Join Active Minds as we explore how the institutions and individuals of 19th century America left their mark on this important musical style and how classical music left its mark on American culture.
