Acclaimed addiction authors David and Nic Sheff will deliver the keynote address at the 8th Annual Arapahoe House Luncheon on September 27, 2017. The fundraising event will be held at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and will benefit the nonprofit organization’s life-changing addiction treatment programs. David Sheff is a renowned journalist and The New York Times best-selling author of “Clean” and the memoir “Beautiful Boy.” Award-winning “Beautiful Boy” is a fiercely candid story of David’s hope and despair as a parent to Nic, his son consumed by drug addiction. His memoir is slated to become a major motion picture produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B, with an all-star cast including Steve Carrell, Maura Tierney and Amy Ryan. His book “Clean” is the result of the years David spent investigating the disease of addiction and America’s drug crisis, the greatest public health challenge of our time.

As a journalist, David has written for The New York Times, Rolling Stone and many other publications where his interview subjects included John Lennon, Steve Jobs, Tom Hanks, and more. Sheff was named to the Time 100, Time Magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people in 2009 and most recently received the American Society of Addiction Medicine Media Award in recognition of improving the public’s understanding of addiction.

David’s son, Nic Sheff, is in recovery from addiction and is the acclaimed author of two memoirs about his experience: “Tweak” and “We All Fall Down.” His work has been published in Newsweek, the San Francisco Chronicle and more.
