Artist Anne-Joëlle Galley and 15-year-old Ryan Dunne to sign their children’s book

November 15, 2019

Artist Anne-Joëlle Galley collaborated with 15-year-old Ryan Dunne, who lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, to illustrate a children’s book, “Animal Jam,” a story where endangered species go to a party where each has their own unique dance.

Artist Anne-Joëlle Galley spends most of her time transforming her celebrated paintings into high-end fashion accessories.
Recently, she’s been working on a different type of project. She has collaborated with 15-year old Ryan Dunne to illustrate a children’s book. Dunne lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a debilitating disease affecting his muscles. He finds joy in art — painting, drawing and photography.
They have collaborated to finish a book, entitled“Animal Jam,” a story about endangered species who go to a party where each has their own unique dance. A celebration of the finished work will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 at Access Gallery, 909 Santa Fe Dr. in Denver, Colorado, 80204. The event, free and open to the public, will also offer an opportunity to view the art and meet the artists.
In addition, there will be a book signing and all proceeds of the day will go to the gallery and to the Animal Welfare Institute, a non-profit organization founded in 1951 with the goal of reducing pain and fear inflicted on animals by humans.

Access Gallery is an inclusive nonprofit organization that opens doors for people with disabilities to access, experience and benefit from the arts.
