ASO has openings for bassoon, trombone, trumpet, French horn, all strings and substitutes on all instruments. Consider joining us if you are an accomplished amateur, a professional looking to build repertoire, an educator or advanced student and you want to make music in an environment that is challenging yet positive with friendly colleagues. For auditions please prepare two contrasting selections, a lyrical piece demonstrating musical style and a piece showing technical ability. You will also be asked to sight read a piece of orchestral literature. If applicable, be prepared to play a selection for any auxiliary instrument you play. Auditions last 5-7 minutes. Each selection should be at least 5 minutes long and be a complete movement of a concerto, sonata or etude from which proctors can make a selection. Percussionists should prepare 5 minute selections for snare and mallets. Auditions will be August 20 and 22, 2015.
