Bean to Bar: Chocolate Making at Home

Have you ever been curious about how chocolate is created? Did you know that it can be made in your own home? Learn how to make chocolate so you can tailor it to your own tastes and avoid any ingredients that you or your family are allergic to. This beginner’s course will be hands on as you go through all of the steps to turn cacao beans into bars. We’ll cover what equipment is necessary, what is nice to have, and what might be a waste of money. If you have a reasonably stocked kitchen you may already own much of the required equipment, save for a melanger (the grinder). John Martin is a lifelong chocoholic who began making chocolate at home four years ago after being inspired by a newspaper article. He loves experimenting with recipes and discovering the vast variety of flavors that come from different beans. Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty.
