Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP? might not be the most faithful, but BLADE RUNNER has become enshrined in the halls of science-fiction classics all the same. Bringing Dick’s tale of lifelike androids into a groundbreaking futuristic noir city, Scott’s film is one of the most influential in the history of the genre.
Tasked with hunting down a set of rogue androids, “Blade Runner” Rick Deckard’s (Harrison Ford) mission is simple – but the issues it raises are anything but. It covers notions of sentience, empathy, and human rights, with iconic supporting performances, unmatched production design, and a dreamy synth score. It’s no surprise BLADE RUNNER is universally considered a classic.
This “Final Cut” is the most complete version of BLADE RUNNER, representing 25 years of finessing Scott’s vision.
