Blood Donations Needed at Children’s Hospital Colorado: Complimentary COVID-19 Antibody Test with Each Successful Blood Donation
Due to the impact of COVID-19, there is a dire blood and platelet shortage. The Children’s Hospital Colorado Blood Donor Center has felt the impact and is in need of blood and platelet donations to meet the transfusion needs of its patients. It’s currently offering a complimentary COVID-19 antibody test with every successful blood or platelet donation (one per donor). All samples are run in the Children’s Hospital Colorado lab on the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Safety is our top concern, and we are proactively taking precautions to prevent exposure to COVID-19 by:
Disinfecting all shared surfaces in between donors
Screening all donors and technicians
Spacing chairs 6 feet apart
Providing food sealed in individual packages
Children’s Hospital Colorado is a private, nonprofit pediatric health system that treats all kids, regardless of their ability to pay
The Blood Donor Center is 97% self-sufficient and relies on healthy, eligible blood donors to supply nearly all the blood products that are needed for young patients
