Camp Shai at the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center
June 6 - August 12
JCC Camp Shai is Denver’s premier Jewish Day Camp serving children entering grades K – 6. Individuals of all backgrounds, faiths, and families are welcome.
At Camp Shai, we offer a little something for everyone with a variety of engaging and fun activities. From sports to theater to STEM, our campers are building their skillsets while enjoying the traditional summer camp experience.
We believe that summer camp is the perfect environment for children to develop their skills outside of the classroom and build their confidence. Studies by the American Camping Association report that day camp campers display an improved ability to make and maintain friendships, increased confidence to try new activities, and greater skill development to hone the skills they are working so hard at. At Camp Shai, we place an emphasis in our programming on the universal values of kindness (chesed), respect (kavod), community (kehillah), and good sportsmanship & attitude (ruach).
At Camp Shai, we put a lot of intention into our programming so that all campers leave feeling confident and stand a little taller. Studies by the American Camping Association report day camp campers learn and grow in ways that impact them for the rest of their lives. These areas of growth include:
Demonstrating increased self-esteem and a higher emotional intelligence
Learning new skills and sharpening existing ones
Developing social skills that help campers make friends and lasting connections with others
Becoming more adventurous and willing to try new things outside of their comfort zone
