Cook Park Community Garden Tour, August 8th 10am-3pm
August 8, 2015
SAVE THE DATE…..Saturday, August 8th from 10am-3pm for
Cook Park Community Garden Tour!!
Looking for some gardening tips, information on chickens or beekeeping and landscape ideas; need help with vegetables or thinking about putting in a pond or adding a xeriscape garden to cut down on your monthly water bill? We have 10 avid gardeners who have graciously agreed to participate in the CP (Cook Park) Community Garden Tour, as well as CP Denver Urban Garden that has been in operation for over 25 years, represents 13 different cultures, and also donates free produce to Project Angel Heart!
• Early tickets for the event are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors 65 or older, and children under 10 are free. The CP Community Garden Tour brochure will be the ticket to the event and will be available for purchase late July. The exact location of the gardens will not be disclosed until the day of the event. Ticket prices the day of the event will be $12 for ALL.
• To learn more about the Cook Park Garden Tour and find out where tickets can be purchased, go to www.cookparkgardentour.weebly.com. We will also have two local businesses help with point of purchase sales starting in late July. More information will also be posted on Cook Park Neighborhood Association Facebook page and Cook Park News website link: www.cookparkneighborhood.com.
• Posters will be available for local businesses to display in their stores by July and we are looking for volunteers to help with marketing, signage, ticket sales and help two weeks before the event. We also are looking for a local restaurant who wants to be a sponsor for our Cocktails & Tapas Celebration party to be held after the event from 6pm-7pm. If interested, please contact Pat Horgan or Aaron Cook.
• Are you an artist, musician or make yard art? We would love to have you display your wares in one of our CP Community gardens! You could get some new contacts and also have fun but you would have to commit to staying at the garden from 10am-3pm and be ready to set up at 9am.
So, if you want to get involved in your neighborhood, volunteer, meet some great gardeners and have some fun, please give us a call. Upcoming meetings are Wednesday, July 1st, and August 5th 6pm-7pm, Cooks Park Recreation Center.
If you are interested in being a sponsor please contact Pat Horgan, Chairperson, at 303-756-4779, email pathorgan@comcast.net, or Aaron Cook, 303-870-4874, aacook1@yahoo.com.
