Curtis Park Home Tour
September 24 - September 25
Get a unique chance to see inside many of Curtis Park’s historic buildings including Temple Emanuel (1882), Denver’s first major Jewish synagogue, and the National Guard Armory (1889) that housed the Colorado State Militia.
This tour of Denver’s Curtis Park will showcase the architectural, cultural, social, and economic diversity of the neighborhood. Queen Anne, Italianate, Eastlake and Second Empire homes are interspersed with quaint cottages, duplexes, and rowhouses built for the City’s first golden age starting in the 1870s. Historic sites on the tour will include Temple Emanuel (1882), Denver’s first major Jewish synagogue, and the National Guard Armory (1889) that housed the Colorado State Militia.
Contributing to the livability of Curtis Park, neighbors have worked for years to increase the tree canopy and green spaces in the neighborhood. The tour will include a look at those spaces and why they are important in historically marginalized communities.
