Denver’s Signature Library Fundraiser Goes Virtual with Author Kwame Alexander

The 2020 gala, hosted by the Foundation, has been transformed into a dynamic virtual event “Booklovers Online: Bookmark” Free event.
The event will include live remarks from Governor Polis and City Librarian Michelle Jeske, a cocktail-mixing demonstration, as well as a featured speaker — New York Times bestselling and award-winning author Kwame Alexander. In addition to reading his latest picture book The Undefeated, Alexander will join Jameka Lewis, Senior Librarian at the Blair-Caldwell African-American Research Library, for a conversation about the role of children’s books and libraries in social and racial justice.
Guests will also enjoy library stories of impact and a musical performance from Bianca and the Fly Boys. In honor of Denver Public Library’s commitment to free and equal access for all, event registration is free.
