Discover Indian Folk Art with Warli Painting
May 12, 2018
Warli painting is a form of tribal art that uses basic geometric shapes (the circle, triangle, and square) to create delightful, animated depictions of nature and typical, daily life activities. Their linear nature and monochromatic hues make them similar to prehistoric cave paintings and aboriginal art. The rustic charm of these paintings can transport you back in time and connect you with the joy of everyday life. In this workshop, explore the history and techniques of Warli and create your own dynamic and exuberant paintings. A native of India, Mitra Verma is an artist and designer with a passion for folk history, folklore, and myths. She finds her inspiration in the commonplace and takes great joy in celebrating life using the traditional art forms of her culture. This workshop is suitable for all levels of artists.
