Families and individuals are invited to celebrate and support our bountiful season of growing and giving at a vegetarian, multi-course meal prepared by SAME Cafe (2023 E. Colfax Ave, Denver 80206.) Chef Tisha Steele will use the last of Ekar’s seasonal produce ( such as carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and corn) for two community-style seating at: 5:00pm and 7:30pm. The dinners celebrate the harvest of over 8,000 pounds of fresh vegetables tended and harvested by Ekar volunteers, and donated to hunger relief agencies. SAME Cafe is a nonprofit pay-what-you-can restaurant. Proceeds from the cost of $36 per person directly benefit Ekar’s programming, operations and produce donations to Metro Caring, SAME Cafe, Kavod Senior Life and JFS Weinberg Food Pantry.
