Emerson String Quartet, presented by Friends of Chamber Music

The Emerson String Quartet, a long-time Denver favorite, will perform on Wednesday, May 15, 7:30 p.m. in Gates Hall, Newman Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets are $40 each; $10 for ages 30 and under.
The quartet will perform works by Haydn, Shostakovich, and Verdi. The Emerson Quartet brings “. . . virtuosity to every phrase.” – The New York Times
The Emerson String Quartet has maintained its stature as one of the world’s premier chamber music ensembles for more than four decades. The quartet has made more than 30 acclaimed recordings, and has been honored with nine Grammys® (including two for Best Classical Album), three Gramophone Awards, the Avery Fisher Prize, and Musical America’s “Ensemble of the Year”. During the 2018-2019 season the Emerson continues to perform as the quartet in residence at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
