Join Jeananne Olsen Wright IN PERSON as she traces the westward movement of America’s pioneers on the Oregon (Overland) Trail from 1843-1870. Her passion and knowledge of quilts and the Trail entertains and educates her audiences.
She shows more than 36 antique quilts, including five from History Colorado’s Collection, that exemplify the difficult 2000-mile journey undertaken by dedicated and daring men and women who desired free land and a chance to start over.
This important time in our history is uniquely brought to life through quilts, true stories, diary entries, and historical facts. Quilts and the Trail are woven into a fascinating saga of bravery, heartache, hardship, and triumph.
Audiences worldwide have commented that this program was more enlightening than reading a written account.
Ms. Wright has given this lecture on the Trail in Wyoming and several locations in Nebraska.
