Lowry Speaker Series Presents: “The Historic Eisenhower Chapel: Past, Present and Future”

February 5, 2019

The Lowry Speaker Series presents “The Historic Eisenhower Chapel: Past, Present and Future” on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 7:00pm at the Eisenhower Chapel, 293 Roslyn Street in Denver (on Lowry). Admission is free; no tickets necessary.

Join us as State Historian Tom Noel (“Dr. Colorado”), the Lowry Foundation, and Historic Denver explore the history and architecture of the Eisenhower Chapel. With a focus on the historical and architectural significance, this lecture will talk about how the Chapel has been preserved to commemorate President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Dr. Colorado will recount important moments connected to the Lowry-legacy and guide us through related preservation and restoration efforts. Built in 1941 as a modest building, it is a rare surviving example of standard military-design frame chapel. The Eisenhower Chapel is listed on the National Register or Historic Places and was designated a Denver Landmark in 1982.
