Meditation for Beginners

Join local veterinarian Pranav Chawla for this introductory mindfulness meditation class. Vipassana, or Buddhist Insight Meditation, is the practice of training your attention to awaken you beyond your conditioned mind and habitual thinking, revealing the true nature of reality. The class will be both simple and broad–working with the breath, the body, thoughts, and difficult emotions, culminating in the practices of lovingkindness and compassion. If you’ve tried meditation but had a hard time in the past, this class is for you! Pranav teaches in a casual style with modern language, helping you bring curiosity, gentleness, and humor to the art of self-examination.
