Mossflower Seasonal Floral Design Workshop
April 14, 2018
Join Mossflower to celebrate the arrival of spring with fresh cut flowers and a seasonal floral design workshop. One of the reasons we love flowers is they’re ephemeral, in this class you’ll have the chance to appreciate each bloom singularly and elevate a collection of seasonal blooms as art through floral design. In the class you’ll learn about the elements of design: color, form, space and texture.
Guiding you through the design process is Helen Skiba, farmer-florist, from the Lyons Farmette, Lyons, CO. Helen is a Colorado native, with an undergraduate degree in English Literature and a Master of Agriculture from CSU. She completed her master’s thesis in combination with her work in the Peace Corps in Ecuadorian Amazon, specializing in food security & sustainable agriculture. Her background in literature and agriculture give her a unique lens to view flowers. Helen has a passion for intricate color and texture in her designs, which she honed at Floret Flowers, one of the nation’s leading farmer-florists. She’s currently a Floret regional ambassador for their online farming workshops. Feel free to ask her your backyard flower growing questions as well.
Bring a friend, drink some wine, eat gorgeous food and quiet your mind to let your intuition and creative voice shine. Making something with your hands is meditative. No swiping or clicking, your attention is focused on the present moment learning something new.
