November 1, 2021 - November 30, 2021
The Children’s Diabetes Foundation is celebrating National Diabetes Awareness Month in November by encouraging people with type 1 to share determination stories using #T1Determined on social media. Some Denver facilities are also turning blue.
The Children’s Diabetes Foundation (CDF) is celebrating National Diabetes Awareness Month throughout November with the #T1Determined campaign on social media. People with type 1 diabetes and their loved ones are encouraged to share their determination story to empower, inspire, and motivate all people with type 1 diabetes to live fulfilling, unimpeded lives. Whether it’s walking, running, learning a new activity, or home workouts, the CDF wants to spread that inspiration with #T1Determined.
Some iconic Denver facilities will turn blue, the universal color for diabetes, in honor of Diabetes Awareness Month, and World Diabetes Day on November 14th. DaVita headquarters will turn both of their buildings blue for the entire month. The City & County of Denver will turn their building blue the week of November 14th to the 20th, and Union Station will go blue on November 14th.
National Diabetes Awareness Month is observed every November throughout the United States to bring attention to the disease and those affected. World Diabetes Day was created by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization in 1991 in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. It is the largest diabetes awareness campaign, reaching over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries.
