One Night Stand Theater presents “Back to School” online
August 20 - October 20
Free audio production features short stories and plays showcasing education, students and school life. For mature audiences.
One Night Stand Theater has just released its eighth online “mini-show”: an audio production called “Back to School.” The show’s short plays and stories showcase education, students and school life. It can be listened to at any time starting August 20 at the One Night Stand Theater website at www.onenightstandtheater.org.
“While we’re waiting to return to live stage performances at Aurora’s Vintage Theatre, we’re doing these online productions with our One Night Stand Theater writers and actors,” says James O’Leary, One Night Stand Theater’s artistic director. “Our new show features tales of life in kindergarten, grade school and high school, with scary teachers, lunchroom hijinks and prom pranks.”
The show features six short stories and plays: Get revenge on the prom king and queen in “Punch Bowl” by David-Matthew Barnes. Master the complexities of kindergarten projects in “For a Loop” by Donna Hoke. Discover a vexing life lesson through a grade-school Christmas play in “The Good Ones” by J. Jackson. Graduate from high school and into the great outdoors in “The Lowering Wilderness” by Jon Jory. Take part in a timeless lunchroom ritual in “The Bully” by Jeff O’Leary. Experience the world’s toughest penmanship lesson in “Sister Michael Mary” by Dave Ufford.
The stories and plays are performed by actors Erin Bell, Linda Swanson Brown, Randy Diamon, Joi Hiatt, Jack McCarthy, Brooke Olson, Maria Ortiz, Kytriena Payseno, Jillian Price, Theodore Story, Dave Ufford and Guy Willia
