In I See Myself in You (Show Me More), Katrina Moore depicts the small details of insects and other densely patterned objects in a scale relatively larger to those objects. Formerly an animation artist, Moore chose to turn to etching in this series to tell stories. Utilizing etching’s innate ability to draw a viewer in, Moore allows for an intimate relationship to develop, not only with the objects depicted, but with the intricate patterns as well. Explaining this relationship, she states “My goal is to situate the viewer in that place where the minute can be fully immersive, as a metaphor for a personal, psychological experience.” Katrina Moore studied at Middlebury College where she received a BA in Studio Art. She now resides in Denver, CO, working as an interdisciplinary artist.
