Art Gym is honored to exhibit Separation Proofs, a selection of print process materials showing separation systems used by Leon Loughridge and Tony Ortega in the Common Space Gallery with an opening reception February 20 from 5 – 8PM.

The works on display in Separation Proofs both developed out of collaboration with other creatives. Collaborating with poet John Macker, Leon Loughridge has created multi-layered screen prints illustrating Macker’s poetry for a new book project. Loughridge has selected a print from the series that demonstrates warm and neutral colors working together through transparent layers of screen printed ink. In 2018, Tony Ortega worked with Art Gym printmaking director Gregory Santos for 6 months, to create Una Pareja Folklorica, a 7-layer color lithograph. The lithographic plates and separation films of the dancing couple will be exhibited to demonstrate the tedious process of registration through this medium.
