CAPOTE sees the titular writer leaving his cushy New York life for Holcomb, Kansas, to research the case that would become his iconic “non-fiction novel” IN COLD BLOOD. Bennett Miller’s film examines that period of the author’s life, from his social disconnect with “everyday” America, to his relationship with fellow writer Harper Lee, to his eventual self-involvement in the case he’s supposedly researching.

Philip Seymour Hoffman disappears into his role as Truman Capote. Embodying not only the author’s idiosyncratic physical and vocal mannerisms, but also capturing the personality behind them, Hoffman turns in one his finest performances – amongst a roster full of all-timers.
