Piotr Andreszewski, piano, presented by Friends of Chamber Music

Polish pianist Piotr Anderszewski will close Friends of Chamber Music’s 2018-19 Piano Series on Wednesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m., Newman Center. Single tickets are $40 for adults; $10 for ages 30 and under.
In addition to selections from Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, Anderszewski will perform Beethoven’s Diabelli Variations for the first time in FCM’s 65-year history. “Every one of the 33 variations seemed freshly imagined, with their dizzying contrasts of wit and pathos, explosive energy and communing stillness . . . ” – The Guardian
About Piotr Anderszewski: One of the outstanding pianists of his generation, Piotr Anderszewski is recognized for the intensity and originality of his interpretations. He has been a recipient of the Gilmore award, the Szymanowski Prize, and a Royal Philharmonic Society award. He has also been the subject of several documentaries by the film maker Bruno Monsaingeon. Piotr Anderszewski plays Diabelli Variations (2001) explores Anderszewski’s particular relationship with Beethoven’s iconic work.
