Refuge Day
October 18, 2014
Experience the “Wild” at Refuge Day on October 18!
Explore the “wild” side of Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge at a free, annual Refuge Day celebration for the entire family on October 18, 2014, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Visitor Center.
See the Refuge’s “wild” natives like bison, deer, hawks and more as part of National Wildlife Refuge week. Join us at the Visitor Center for wildlife activity booths, wildlife tours, arts and crafts, live birds of prey from the Birds of Prey Foundation, the Denver Zoo with live animals, voting for your favorite Refuge photo and more! All activities are geared for family fun! Best of all, the event is free and no reservations are needed!
All of the excitement doesn’t end at the Visitor Center. Visitors can sign up for free 45-wildlife viewing tours on a first-come first-served basis. Or take your vehicle on our “wildly” popular 9-mile Wildlife Drive to see more of the Refuge at your own pace including driving through the bison pasture, wetlands, prairie and wooded areas.
So mark your calendar for this special day and let the fun begin! Come experience one of the largest urban wildlife refuges in the country that more than 300 resident and migratory animals call home. You’re sure to have a “wild” time and we’re practically in your backyard! For more information please call the Refuge Visitor Center at 303-289-0930 or visit us online at http://fws.gov/rockymountainarsenal.
