SAME Cafe Monster Mile
November 1, 2015
2015 Monster Mile
Come out and pound the pavement after you pound the candy! SAME Cafe is racing to celebrate our 9th anniversary. Join us for the first ever Monster Mile on November 1st! The mile race is making a comeback. Come see how fast you can run 5,280 feet.
For serious runners, the true test of running ability is not a 5k or a marathon, but a mile at your best pace.
For those of you more interested in fun than run, come decked out in your finest Halloween outfit and put on your running shoes. Go ahead and dress up like a milk carton or a Rubik’s cube – you only have to run a mile in it! And there are great prizes for individual and group costumes.
The race takes place at the property of the upcoming Stanley Marketplace (2501 Dallas St. Aurora, CO 80010). Be one of the first to see the development in person before it opens in Spring 2016! Plenty of parking is available on site, but we certainly encourage carpooling with friends whenever possible to help reduce our impact on the environment.
8am-9:30am – Check-in and last minute registrations (if available)
10am – Races start every 10 minutes (Competitive Men, Competitive Women, Costume/Fun Run)
11am-12pm – Post Race party and awarding of prizes
At the post race party, we’ll celebrate with craft beers, monster cookies, trick-or-treating, top finisher prizes and the costume contest.
Bring 5 organic food items (shelf stable please) for an extra Halloween treat!
Only 300 entries are available for this inaugural run, so be sure to sign up early to claim your spot.
Entry fees are ONLY $20 if you sign up by October 1st – and each entry will provide a meal to a family of FOUR at SAME Cafe!!
SAME Café’s mission of serving good food for the greater good says it all. Committed to presenting culinary delights to all who walk through the door, it is all about food and community, and not so much about price.
SAME is the 1st nonprofit restaurant in Denver. Its patrons set the price for their mostly local, organic cuisine. If you can give more, please do. If you have a little less, pay what you can. If your pockets are empty, exchange an hour of volunteer work at SAME for one of the café’s mouth-watering meals.
It is the intent of SAME Cafe to build a healthy community by providing a basic need of food in a respectful and dignified manner to anyone who walks through the door.
