Sand Creek Greenway Volunteer Work Day in Denver
August 3, 2019
10 am to noon, volunteers work on habitat restoration and trail clean-up with Sand Creek Greenway and Denver Parks and Recreation Staff at the Smith Road trailhead area, near the confluence of Sand Creek and Westerly Creek in Stapleton.
Water and breakfast snacks will be provided, plus all tools. We’ll also learn about species on the Greenway and Denver’s new Lights Out Initiative to save energy, money and migratory birds by creating bird-safe buildings and reducing night time lighting. Everyone is welcome including families with kids over 5; everyone must sign volunteer release. For safety, wear long pants, long sleeved shirts and hats. This is a great opportunity to learn more about this area resource and the wildlife that lives here, and how to take care of the Greenway!
