Simone Dinnerstein, piano, presented by Friends of Chamber Music
May 18, 2019
Friends of Chamber Music will close their Piano Series on Saturday, May 18, at 7:30 p.m. with the spellbinding pianist Simone Dinnerstein. The solo recital will take place in Gates Concert Hall at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts.
Well-known to Denver audiences, Dinnerstein will feature works she will perform at the Aspen Music Festival this summer, including two pieces by François Couperin, Schumann’s Kreisleriana, Op. 16, and Mad Rush by Philip Glass.
“Dinnerstein is an artist of strikingly original ideas and irrefutable integrity,” wrote Patrick Rucker of The Washington Post reviewing her December Kennedy Center performance. “These attributes, combined with elegance and grace, lend her music-making its captivating beauty.” Dinnerstein first attracted attention in 2007 with her self-produced recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. It was a remarkable success, reaching No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Classical Chart in its first week of sales. Since then, her performance schedule has taken her to venues around the world. She is also deeply dedicated to her community, founding several initiatives to help children get close to the music she loves.
Single tickets are $40 each, $10 for patrons ages 30-years-old and under. www.newmantix.com, 303-871-7720.
