April 11, 2015
April 2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the end of the American Civil War and President Lincoln’s tragic assassination mere days later – defining events in our history as a nation. Period works, as well as more modern settings of Civil War texts such as those of Walt Whitman, together with sensitive readings of soldiers’ letters, diaries and other primary documents, rendered by Civil War antiquarian Richard de Tar, will poignantly recall this triumphant, yet tragic, defining moment in American history.
