The experience of displacement is not unique to “refugees”.
We all experience moments of being out-of-place.
What are the barriers that prevent us from a sense of belonging?
What does it look like to triumph over those barriers?
OUR GOAL is to create threads of commonalities through a wide variety personal perspectives which depict the sense of feeling at home wherever and whoever we are.
All contributing artists will have free admission to the event.
Musical entertainment by The Flobots and Kid Astronaut.
** This will be a juried event, with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and “People’s Choice” cash awards. **
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1) Work must be for sale. 100% of sales will go to strengthen and develop critical programs for Project Worthmore. Your contribution is tax deductible.
2) Artwork must depict that which binds us or portrays a sense of belonging. Any size, style and medium accepted. Reference images and inspiration can be found on the Our Neighbors Ourselves FB page (album: “ONO 15 Reference“), but you are also encouraged to do your own research.
3) All 2-D work must be completely dry and WIRED for HANGING. 3-D work also accepted.
4) Delivery of art must take place between the hours of 10-2pm, Wednesday – Friday, April 1, 2, & 3 at ACAD Gallery: 1400 Dallas St., Aurora CO 80010 Upon delivery please have ready:
Your Name, Artwork Title, Medium and Value of the artwork.
