Confluence Ministries is pleased to present “Truth-Infused: A Closer Look at Pot Culture and Colorado’s Youth,” an educational seminar exploring aspects of marijuana legalization in Colorado and its impact — real and potential — on the state’s children and teens.
This morning of instruction is designed for anyone who works with youth — including educators, counselors and nonprofit volunteers. It will be led by Dr. Christian Thurstone, an associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Colorado Denver who serves as medical director of one of Colorado’s largest adolescent substance-abuse-treatment programs. Dr. Thurstone is a world-recognized expert in adolescent addiction treatment. He will discuss the latest science about marijuana’s impact on the developing brain.
Also presenting will be Save Our Youth Founder Luis Villarreal, who will address the role of adult involvement in drug-prevention efforts, and award-winning journalist Christine Tatum, who will discuss responsible media coverage.
