The Upside of Stress: Applying to Positive Psychology

All kinds of maladies, from heart disease to mental illness to cancer, have been attributed to stress. Everyone experiences stress on a daily basis—it is a necessary, even desirable part of human experience. John Ameen stumbled upon the field of positive psychology when asked, as a high school history teacher, to develop the curriculum for a psychology course. In his current position at ThunderRidge High School, he developed a full course on the subject and seeks to share the benefits of this approach to living with a wider audience.
