Virtual EPIC Diabetes Conference

May 21

The 2022 EPIC, or Empowering Patients for Individualized Care, Diabetes Conference is being held virtually from Denver, Colorado on Saturday, May 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. MDT. The event educates people about caring for type 1 and type 2.

This is a great way to continue your diabetes education outside of appointments and learn from the nation’s top diabetes specialists through presentations and Q&A sessions. Individual tickets for viewing virtually on a single device are $10, and for families of four or more who will be viewing virtually on multiple devices, a family ticket is $25.

The online conference offers three different content tracks: pediatric, adult, and a brand new sponsor-hosted track. On the sponsor-hosted track, attendees are able to ask questions and interact with sponsors on a more personal level. Workshops include a 15-minute presentation by the speaker or speakers, followed-by 45 minutes for questions from attendees. Session topics include Adult & Pediatric Diabetes Technologies, Non-Insulin Therapeutics, Mental and Behavioral Health, The Future of Weight Management, Drugs and Therapies, and Anticipating Needs in a Changing Adult & Pediatric Environment.

Keynote speaker, Lori Sussel, Ph.D. will discuss the recent progress and challenges in developing new treatments for type 1 diabetes (T1D), including the generation of alternative sources of insulin-producing cells and novel transplantation approaches. She will also speak about the cutting-edge diabetes research that is currently ongoing at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC).
