Meet and mingle with our exhibition artists; Yuge Zhou, Deborah Nehmad and Marlene Siff. They tackle topics about urban isolation, gun violence and war. Each artist uses a different medium to express their desire for us all to reflect and discus

Yuge Zhou is a Chinese born, Chicago-based artist. Her solo exhibition features videos and multimedia installations exploring urban environments as they are inhabited and experienced—from cacophonous and congested to solitary and wistful. Using techniques like projection mapping, relief sculptures and multiscreen synchronization, it is the most complete survey of the artist’ work to date.

Deborah Nehmad is based in Hawaii and describes her practice as a way to visualize and raise awareness of the enormous human cost of violence, war and injustice in our country. Nehmad will exhibit two bodies of work in the Hand-Rudy and MacMillan Family Gallery with an emphasis on gun violence.

Connecticut based artist Marlene Siff uses her paintings, works on paper, and sculpture to depict imagery of personal events and psychological issues. The paintings on view in her exhibition pay homage to people who have been affected by war. Siff utilizes the color white to create a space for rest, retreat, connection, reflection and identification.
