DESCRIPTION:CVA’s current exhibition Dance of Resistance reveals LGBTQ
 + histories and imagined \nfutures through figural works that illuminate
  the power of art to inspire change and foster \nunderstanding in our di
 verse world. Join us at CVA for an artist talk with Dance of \nResistanc
 e artist Preetika Rajgariah\, whose artistic practice examines her layer
 ed identity \nas an immigrant\, woman of color\, American\, Southerner\,
  and Queer individual\, utilizing \nmaterials rooted in her cultural and
  personal history. Her work engages with themes of \nfeminism\, globaliz
 ation\, representation\, and marginalized communities\, while promoting 
 \nhealing and social consciousness through innovative\, meditative proce
 sses.\nPreetika Rajgariah is a multidisciplinary artist whose works exam
 ine the complicated \nintersections of cultural + queer identity\, nosta
 lgia\, and capitalist consumption while \nreferencing her traditional up
 bringing as an Indian born\, Texas raised American. She has \nbeen in re
 sidence at the Momentary\, Oxbow\, ACRE\, Vermont Studio Center\, and th
 e \nSchool of Visual Arts NYC\, and she has exhibited and performed in s
 paces such as \nMaterial Art Fair in Mexico City\, Untitled Miami Basel\
 , the Asia Society Texas Center\, Roots \n& Culture and the Donnelley Fo
 undation in Chicago\, the Mission Cultural Center for Latino \nArts and 
 SOMArts in San Francisco\, Women & Their Work in Austin\, and Diversewor
 ks \nHouston. She received her MFA from the University of Illinois Urban
 a Champaign and \ncurrently lives and works in Houston\, TX.\nThe Center
  for Visual Art (CVA) is the off-campus art gallery for MSU Denver\, sho
 wcasing \ncontemporary artists whose work sparks dialogue and creates pa
 thways to change. CVA \noffers free admission for everyone to its exhibi
