  Change Lecture Series is a significant part of the Smithsonian's nation
 al programming in 2026 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signi
 ng of the Declaration of Independence. The Smithsonian and 25 Affiliates
  across the country (including History Colorado) will collaborate to cel
 ebrate\, explore\, and commemorate this milestone while illuminating nat
 ional and regional stories and their contributions to our nation’s his
 tory.\n\nThis lecture is part of the 2025-2026 Rosenberry Lecture Series

 Making Change Lecture will feature a Smithsonian curator\, scientist\, e

 om across Smithsonian museums and research centers\, bringing interdisci
 plinary perspectives and diverse views to celebrate accomplishments and 
 to reflect on the ideals laid out at the founding of the nation - how th
 ey have evolved and continue - and what it means to be American today. B
 eyond a specific date in history\, the 250th anniversary offers an oppor
 tunity for Smithsonian Affiliates to explore the full breadth of the Ame
 rican story – the people\, the moments\, the ideals who have made hist
 ory and affected change in the continually unfolding story of the Americ
