DESCRIPTION:Friends of Chamber Music (FCM) launches its 2025–26 season
  with a powerful and timely performance featuring the GRAMMY award-winni
 ng Pacifica Quartet and the beloved Colorado Children’s Chorale\, in t
 he world premiere of Pitch In by composer James Lee III.\n\nBased on a p
 oem by Sylvia Dianne Beverly (“Lady Di”)\, Pitch In is a stirring mu
 sical call to action on the issues of childhood poverty and hunger. Thro
 ugh this work\, James Lee III gives voice to a critical social concern w
 hile blending the artistry of two top-tier ensembles. The program also i
 ncludes Samuel Barber’s Quartet in B Minor\, Op. 11\, and Beethoven’
 s Quartet in B-flat Major\, Op. 130.\n\nSeptember is Hunger Awareness Mo
 nth\, and FCM is proud to spotlight the work of Food for Thought\, a Den
 ver-based\, all-volunteer organization working to eliminate childhood hu
 nger in public schools. For many low-income students\, Friday’s school
  lunch may be the last full meal they receive until Monday. Each week\, 
 Food for Thought mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to pack and deliver �
 �PowerSacks”—bags of weekend food—for students and their families.
  The organization currently serves 75 schools across the Denver metro ar
 ea.\nThis special season-opening concert unites world-class chamber musi
 c with a meaningful cause\, inviting audiences to experience the power o
 f music and community in action.
