Starting April 2—Community Cleanups with Environmental Team

9am-noon the first Saturday of every month, the Neighborhood Partners Environmental Team meets to pick up trash in the water ways at Bluff Lake Nature Center and adjacent open space. NPET encourages the public to join. Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Contact Bluff Lake Nature Center Site Manager Chris Story at 303.945.6717 to confirm time, date and location.

April 9—CFU Un-Job Fair

From 8:30am-4:40pm on Saturday, April 9, Colorado Free University in Lowry will host its annual Un-Job Fair for people running, or considering launching, their own business or nonprofit. National speakers who specialize in self-employment will present. The day will include breakout sessions and activities. CFU is located at 7653 E. 1st Pl. For more information, visit www.freeu.com.

April 14— Stapleton’s First Kindergarten Class Reunion

Stapleton’s first kindergarten class is graduating from high school this year. Students and families of Stapleton’s first kindergarten class at Westerly Creek Elementary are invited to a reunion to reminisce and celebrate! April 16—The Park People’s Earth Day Tree Sale

The Park People organization will celebrate Earth Day this year by offering homeowners affordable trees to plant on their property. Since the discovery of Emerald Ash Borer, the invasive species that attacks ash trees, in 2012 in Boulder, The Park People have been proactively planting trees to lessen the impact if the species makes it to Denver. Trees will be on sale 9am to noon on Saturday, April at the City Park Greenhouse (2500 E. 23rd Ave.) and Sloan’s Lake Park (5055 W. 17th Ave.). April 23—5K Power Walk for Dress for Success

The Power Walk for Dress for Success is dedicated to empowering women to achieve economic independence. The event will take place at 10am on Saturday, April 23 at Central Park (8801 MLK. Blvd.). April 24—Doors Open Denver at Stanley Marketplace

Doors Open Denver is an annual event that allows residents and visitors to go on free, self-guided tours of Denver’s unique architecture, including high-profile and historic buildings. Stanley Marketplace will offer two Insider Tours as part of Doors Open Denver at 1pm and 2:30pm on Sunday, April 24. For tickets, visit doorsopendenver.com

April 30 & May 1—Art Show & Sale

Longtime Park Hill resident Helen Wolcott hosts an annual spring art show out of her home, 2309 Clermont. This year’s event will take place 10am-6pm on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1. Enjoy a free glass of sangria. The show will include jewelry, silk, photography, wood, stained and fused glass, fabric, paper art, pottery, weavings, quilted creations.
