Winter Welcome

People gather around a fire at the annual Winter Welcome on November 20 in Stapleton’s E. 29th Avenue Town Center.

December 4 to January 3—Denver Zoo Lights

From 5:30-9pm nightly Dec. 4 through Jan. 3, Denver Zoo, 2300 Steele, will be open for the 2015 Zoo Lights showcasing 70 acres of lights and 150 animal sculptures. For details, www.denverzoo.org/events/zoo-lights-2015.

December 6—Grand Menorah Lighting on The Green

The 2015 Annual Menorah Lighting on The Green, 29th and Syracuse, to kick off Chanukah will take place at 5:15pm on Sunday, Dec. 6. The night will include a fire juggler, hot cocoa bar, donuts, and Chanukah treats. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.JewishStapleton.com.

December 6—Free Holiday Caroling

From 4 to 5:30pm on Sunday, Dec. 6, Neighborhood Music Stapleton teachers and staff will set up stations with cocoa, candy canes and cookies at each of the Stapleton pools and lead carolers around the surrounding neighborhood. December 13—Chanukah in CandyLand

From 4 to 6pm on Sunday, Dec. 13, join the free event “Chanukah in CandyLand” in the Northfield Mall at 8302 Northfield Blvd., Suite 1610. The evening will include donut decorating, an olive oil press, Chanukah crafts and latkes.

Tuesday–Friday Weekly Stapleton Walks

Tuesday through Friday weekly, join in free Stapleton walks hosted by Walk2Connect, a Colorado-based social group creating connections between people and their neighborhoods through walking. Two Walk2Connect volunteers lead these walks in Stapleton, which are 2.5 miles or one-hour long.

Tuesdays, Westerly Creek Trail

Meet at 8:50am at the Westerly creek Trail east of Central Park Blvd. and south of MLK Blvd.

Wednesdays, Conservatory Green & Northfield Mall

Meet at 7am at the Northfield Mall Starbucks, 8340 Northfield Blvd.

Thursdays, Conservatory Green amenities

Meet at 2:50pm at the fire pit in Conservatory Green Park, south of 49th Pl. between Valentia Ct. and Valentia St.

Fridays, Alzheimer’s Garden in Westerly Creek

Meet at 7am at the Central Park Rec Center, 9651 MLK Blvd. Watch the sunrise.
