A New Affordable Rental Development in Northfield
In December, a room filled with city leaders, developers, and affordable housing advocates gathered to celebrate the grand opening of Northfield Flats, a 129-unit apartment building at 4545 Xenia St., next to the Shops at Northfield.
The “Affordable Denver” Proposal Will Be Decided By Voters
On the same day the “Affordable Denver” tax proposal moved closer to the Denver ballot through a unanimous vote by a City Council committee, community members in northeast Denver listened to in-person pitches for the plan from Mayor Mike Johnston and City Councilwoman Shontel Lewis.

Valor on the Fax: “An Incredible Journey” to Supportive Housing
The Valor on the Fax is a culmination of five years of public and private sector efforts. Valor is located at 7900 East Colfax Ave. and the building will “make a dent” in the tremendous need for housing and supportive services for those with TBI or related disabilities, says Kate Kerkmans, President and CEO of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIA).

Gentrification Patterns in NE Denver
A study from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition revealed that 27 percent of Denver neighborhoods are currently gentrifying and that Denver is the second-most gentrified city in the nation, just behind San Francisco.
