On the same day the “Affordable Denver” tax proposal moved closer to the Denver ballot through a unanimous vote by a City Council committee, community members in northeast Denver listened to in-person pitches for the plan from Mayor Mike Johnston and City Councilwoman Shontel Lewis.
On Nov. 7, voters made consequential decisions that altered the Denver School Board and rejected a property tax proposal.
This fall, Denver voters will decide the new makeup of the Denver School Board and the outcome of two ballot measures. Election Day is Nov. 7, with ballots mailed out on Oct. 16. The election for Westerly Creek Metro District board of directors has been cancelled. Two of the three of candidates withdrew the week of April 18. The district taxes commercial and residential land in Central Park for local infrastructure.
