On a mid-October evening, voters turned out for a ballot information session led by Pearlanne Zelarney with the League of Women Voters (LWV), a non-partisan grassroots organization.

The event, hosted by Front Porch, the MCA, and the LWV, brought in people who are passionate about politics. As one attendee asked, “Why isn’t everyone here?”

Zelarney spoke about the Denver and Colorado ballot issues, answering questions from the audience along the way. She passed out guides for participants to follow along with her presentation. That same information is available at lwvcolorado.org. Front Porch also has a guide HERE.

The ballot is lengthy in 2024 and Zelarney spent nearly 90 minutes going through all of the information. The LWV is particularly active in voter education and voter registration at election time.

Election day is Nov. 5. All ballots must be received in a drop box or people must be in line to vote in person at a Voter Service and Polling Center by 7pm for their vote to count.
