Rocky Mountain Arsenal

The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest urban refuges in the country. It is a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of busy urban life where time moves at nature’s pace. With its expansive views, wildlife viewing opportunities, and recreation activities, it’s easy to take a nature escape! Visiting the Refuge is free! Refuge Hours: Fall, winter, and spring sunrise to sunset. May 1 – August 1 sunrise to 8:00 pm. Visitor Center Hours: Wednesday – Sunday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm (closed on federal holidays).

The U.S. Army has started its Five-Year Review (FYR) process for the Rocky Mountain Arsenal (RMA) environmental cleanup. The purpose is to determine whether RMA’s cleanup approach continues to be protective of public health and the environment.

The Army is seeking public input during this process. Community members are encouraged to submit, in writing, any concerns or issues they would like to see addressed during the FYR. Once the FYR is complete, a draft document summarizing the findings will be made available for public review. All public comments received during this process will be reviewed and considered in the final report.
