De la Tierra: Reflections of Place in the Upper Río Grande exhibition (open August 23, 2024 – April 6,2025, at the History Colorado Center) showcases multiple generations of Hispano families and communities who played a role in shaping the region’s cultural identity. They forged deep connections with the lands and waters of the Upper Río Grande and its tributaries by introducing animals, goods, and customs, creating a unique cultural blend still seen in the vibrant energy and rich history of this dynamic landscape and its communities that call it home.
