Know Your Rights when Interacting with Law Enforcement

May 17 @ 10:00 am

Free

The City of Aurora’s Human Relations Commission is sponsoring an event to help the public learn their rights when interacting with law enforcement – please come to the event, and share it with people you think might be interested!

This event will be held at the Village Exchange Center, 1609 Havana, on Saturday, May 17th from 10am-12pm. The Know Your Rights presentation will be delivered by Learn Your Rights in the Community, a project of the Transformative Justice Project of Colorado. This event will focus on the constitutional rights of everyone who lives in Aurora – regardless of citizenship or immigration status.

The presentation will also include a Q&A section so members of the public can ask any questions they might have. Attendees can also take home simple reference cards to help them remember their rights. Snacks and water will be provided.

The event is open to the general public and does not require any previous knowledge of the law. Folks of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
