Sister Sheila Flynn Shares South Africa

November 14, 2015

NOTE: I have a picture of Sister Sheila and a picture of the women of Kopanang if you would like to include either. My name and contact info are in the press release below:

DENVER, CO — On Sat., Nov. 14, Sister Sheila Flynn will share her incredible journey — from England and Ireland to South Africa and a poor township near Johannesburg, called Kopanang. This event is free and open to the public, and takes place at 7:00 pm at Althea Center, 1400 Williams St. in Capitol Hill.

After her presentation, there will be an opportunity for holiday shopping with beautiful clothes, wall hangings, pillows and other gifts handmade by the women of Kopanang.

Sister Sheila is a true difference-maker in the world. She shares the essence of her work: “At Kopanang we build relationships, share faith, restore hope, extend healing and create beauty in an environment of bleak conditions, unemployment and the AIDS pandemic. Our theme song is ‘Never Give Up’ and that is our spirit.”

Also Nov. 14, join Sister Sheila 11:30 am–4:00 pm for lunch and two work-shops: “Celebrating What’s Right with the World” and “Visual Journaling.” To register for lunch and the workshops (just $25), or to get additional information about Sister Sheila’s Denver visit, contact Tim Wilson at 303-321-0694, 720-987-3072, or tkwdco@comcast.net.
