History Colorado is proud to partner with the Associazione Benàch to present the film, The Lost Mountaineers. This historical documentary film focuses on the story of 25 soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division who tragically lost their lives in a DUKW boat accident at Lake Garda on the night of April 30, 1945. This documentary details the events surrounding the loss of these 25 men and the discovery of the DUKW vehicle wreckage in 2012.
This screening is free and provides after-hours access to the History Colorado Center’s exhibit Winter Warriors: The 10th Mountain Division in World War II. Doors open at 5:00 PM for attendees to view the exhibit before the film screening. The film will begin at 6:00 PM. The duration of the film is 60 minutes and will be followed by a Q/A session with the production team.
